In China all international sporting events for this year have been canceled. This also means the League of Legends worlds that were sold in Shanghai.
Until recently, Riot mother Tencent had certainly allowed the LoL worlds to be let in 2020. These are owned in Shanghai, China. Now the government has canceled all international sporting events for the rest of the year.
These regulations also affect the Esports, who will become the League of Legends World Championships, include esport journalist Rod "Slasher" Wroclaw on Twitter.
China has just canceled all international sporting events for the rest of 2020, which means that the League of Legends world championships that are slated to take place later this year in Shanghai are likely to be postponed to another Relocated or played entirely online. So far, Riot has given no information about the new situation. Should the worlds be lost, the two rights LoL tournaments of the year will be canceled. The mid-season invitational in spring was also canceled.
