Mission Control, an esports league management company, has announced that it will work on a strategic level with the University of Kentucky.
Mission Control will help implement an esports community program for students to participate in campus activities and provide the University of Kentucky with a strategy for implementing the program. It is open to all students, current or former.
missioncontrol.com enables college campus gamers to seamlessly play and communicate with one another through their shared passion for video games, according to an official press release.
"We are excited to partner with Mission Control and bring our platform to our growing gaming community," said Heath Price, Associate CIO at the University of Kentucky. Our new UKFCU Esports Lounge will be unveiled when we welcome our students back to campus and present our new UKFCU Esports Lounge for the first semester. Student engagement and social interaction are a common goal for both sides.
In the past year, Mission Control made a number of strategic decisions that led to this partnership. WISE Esports Ventures, the parent company of the Minnesota RKKR Call of Duty League franchise and Version1 brand, partnered with the company in November. Additionally, Stack Sports, The NC Recreation and Park Association (NCRPA) and HyperX have teamed up to create the program.
